Writing About Health, a Handbook for Journalists

A guide to journalists who are covering various health issues in Bangladesh. Journalists play a crucial role in the health system of a nation by keeping the public informed about where to seek care; and how to live healthy lives, avoid disease, and cope with illness. In addition, when the media cover health issues widely the exchange of information may influence government officials, healthcare providers, and others. This handbook provides some tools that will help journalists perform their jobs better. It includes sections on understanding the health issues in Bangladesh; understanding the health care delivery system in Bangladesh; how to access health information; tips for successful writing; ethics of journalism; and information about additional networking and resources for journalists.
