-Living with HIV or AIDS

The CHAMP 990 Talkline was first established in 2003 in Zambia as an HIV and AIDS hotline. These materials were developed in 2012 with support from USAID under the Communication Support for Health (CSH) Project.

This is a set of fact sheets and guidance for use by Talkline counselors.  

These videos were created as part of the "Life is Precious, Take Care of It" campaign supported by Breakthrough ACTION Zambia. The videos feature three HIV positive men who tell their stories and explain how they live in good health and strength due to carefully adhereing to their ART regimens. They also remind men to get tested for HIV so that they know their status and to use condoms everey time they have sex.

These posters, part of the Breakthrough ACTION project in Zambia, show healthy, strong men who have been on ARV medications for years, performing hard work, and looking well.  They are part of the "Know Your Status. Get Tested. Get Treated!" campaign.

COVID-19 is a serious disease and all people living with HIV should take all recommended preventive measures to minimize exposure to, and prevent infection by, the virus that causes COVID-19. As in the general population, older people living with HIV or people living with HIV with heart or lung problems may be at a higher risk of becoming infected with the virus and of suffering more serious symptoms.

This training material is one of two materials produced for Sawa Sawa, an HIV programme implemented by the Health Communication Capacity Collaborative (HC3) in the Sofala Province of Mozambique.

This book features two eight-year olds living in Africa: a girl called Kayla and a boy called Kendi. Kendi is living with HIV, but seems as happy as any other child. The story focuses on their carefree life at school, at home and in the countryside.
