Comprehensive Condom Programming A guide for resource mobilization and country programming
This document outlines a ten step strategic approach to creating programs for condom promotion.
The ten steps are:
- Establish a national condom support team
- Undertake a situation analysis
- Develop a comprehensive and integrated national strategy for male and female condoms
- Develop a multi-year operational plan and budget
- Link the multi-year operational plan with the national commodity security plan
- Mobilize financial resources
- Strengthen human resources and institutional capacity
- Create and sustain demand for condoms
- Strengthen advocacy and engage the media
- Monitor programme implementation routinely, conduct research and evaluate outcomes
