Building Evidence to Guide PrEP Introduction for Adolescent Girls and Young Women

This document was developed to provide the DREAMS (Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-Free, Menotred, and Safe) Initiatve country teams with practical guidance on building evidence to guide PrEP introduction for adolescent girls and young women (AGYW). Countries will need to develop a vision for how PrEP for AGYW fits into their overall HIV prevention landscape and how to address challenges associated with its introduction.

The primary audiences for this document are health policy makers and program planners who will be making decisions about how PrEP is introduced to AGYW and the researchers who will assess AGYW’s specific needs and experiences. This document provides guidance for the situation and audience analysis that is required to build the basis of a sound, strategic program.
