Beyond the ABCs of FTPs: A Deep Dive into Emerging Considerations for First Time Parent Programs
This is a review which was conducted to examine new and emerging considerations from recent research and programs related to FTP’s reproductive and maternal health, with a particular focus on family planning.
Findings from the review coalesced into six themes of emerging considerations with the potential to strengthen programs, policies and services, as well as to inform research agendas, for FTPs in LMICs under the topics of:
- Gender and Social Norms
- Aspirations and Positive Framing
- Marital Status
- Fatherhood, Masculinities, and Gender Synchronization
- FTP Responsive Health Service Delivery
- Scale-Up Considerations
