This is a guide for the Erkab radio program, part of the Ethiopia Communication for Health project, designed to be used by the producers of the program. This document was a result of a content development and drama design workshop.

This guide serves as a reference for health communication interventions, by providing a set of core messages that are accurate and consistent. It enable practitioners to communicate standardized messages to communities and audiences.

This weekly radio program encourages listeners to adopt healthy behaviors related to different health areas including RMNCH, PMTCT, malaria, nutrition, and WaSH. The program combines drama using the lifecycle approach and real-life stories to integrate the different health areas.

The purpose of this guide is to facilitate effective and guided community discussion on the issues of cultural and traditional practices that contribute to the spread of HIV in the community, and to help Change Agents in the community to carry out prevention activities in ways that incorporate appropriate and culturally sensitive messages to achieve project objectives.
