The COVID-19 Testing Communications Toolkit is a free, public resource for anyone looking to communicate the importance of COVID-19 testing to communities. It is designed for use in the US, but can be used for communities in other parts of the world as well.

Since January 2020, WHO has published more than 100 documents about COVID-19. Of these, more than half are detailed technical guidance, on how to find and test cases, how to provide safe and appropriate care for people depending on the severity of their illness, how to trace and quarantine contacts, how to prevent transmission from one person to another, how to protect health care workers, and how to help communities to respond appropriately.

This Technical Brief presents workarounds—tips and tricks to use digital platforms—to conduct pretests virtually. In this document, two instances for virtual pretesting are presented: the development of social and behavior change (SBC) materials and the development of job aids. Both use similar processes, but with specific differences that are highlighted in this document.

This document provides members of the primary health care (PHC) community with foundational messages to use in communication and advocacy efforts about how and why countries, global decision-makers and donors can – and must – center PHC as a key component of the COVID-19 response in the weeks and months to come.
